Goals & Educational Objectives
1. Define the need for dental implant restorations within today's dental practice environment.
2. Be familiar with the various technologies and clinical manifestations that are necessary for the practitioner to understand in order to provide dental implant services for his or her patients.
3. Develop a thorough understanding of diagnosis and treatment planning for partially and completely edentulous patients.
4. Understand long term benefits of dental implant restorations.
5. Be able to identify problem areas of dental implant treatment along with possible solutions.
6. Understand the role of the oral surgeon, the periodontist and the prosthodontist in working with the general practitioner to provide dental implant dentistry.
7. Understand the clinical significance of dental implant placement within the restorative dentistry setting.
