Many of you have questions about bone grafting. While I do have modules on the Dental Implant Home Page and even a course on DDS-OnLine, I though it might be nice to show a few actual patient treatments where bone grafting was used to significantly alter the treatment outcome. In this first scenario, a young woman presents with a very thin anterior ridge... Too thin to support an implant. While there are many ways to accomplish the bone buildup, I chose a fairly simple method employing a membrane and freeze dried bone. Other methods might include onlay grafts and using the patients own bone from either the hip or the chin. Let's see how this one worked out...
