The patient pictured above wanted to improve the appearance of her smile. She contacted a dentists who advertised "Cosmetic Dentistry". She had a consultation with this dentist and he assured her that he could improve the appearance of her smile. Above is the results of his efforts.
To help orientate you, the dentist had placed 6 porcelain laminates on the six front upper teeth. He actually did this procedure twice. The result was six chalk white appearing teeth which were too short for the patient's smile. In addition, due to a totally improper fit, the gums were inflamed giving the appearance of the red swollen gum tissues surrounding the laminates. In addition to this, the dentist for some unknown reason saw fit to grind off all of the enamel on the back of the teeth (As seen in the photo below) leaving the patient in constant pain. The dentist told her that the pain was "Normal" and that she might just have to have root canals on all of the teeth before she would be comfortable again...
