Dr. Davidoff's Dental Practice is unique and very educational for dental students and visiting dentists. While we have always made the practice available to the dental profession, it is just for the past 5 years that we have actually had a structured program to teach visitors about dental implantology and the dental implant practice. We have had students from all over the world visit with us and the result has been a huge re-enforcement of the basic dental implant techniques throughout the world. In addition to hosting visitors in the office, Dr. Davidoff is always available to lecture in other areas of the country and the world to help spread the word about dental implants.
The in-house course is a 4 week program, however, it can be tailored to almost any time span depending on the needs of the particular practitioner. The one requirement for admission to the program is that the individual must be fluent in the English language. The individual must also be a graduate of a recognized dental school. Students in their Prosthodontic training program are encouraged to attend. There is no tuition for United States trained Prosthodontic Students in American Programs (within two years of their graduation from the PG program).
Each student will assist Dr. Davidoff chairside during implant surgery and throughout the Prosthodontic procedures. In most situations, there are three or four implant surgeries every week giving the student a broad exposure in implant placement technique. Prosthodontics will normally address all types of dental implant situations giving the student an appreciation of both fixed and removable implant prosthodontics. Most major attachment systems are used in the office and will be reviewed in the course work which consists of several hours of lecture and demonstration by Dr. Davidoff and his staff.
The goal of the program is for the student to gain a good understanding of Dental Implant Surgery & Prosthodontics sufficient to warrant implant placement within the individuals own practice setting.
