The original Brånemark protocol for implant placement calls for at least three months of unloaded healing. Dental manufacturers have been trying to get around this waiting period since the day Dr. Brånemark introduced this technology and now every company is introducing a rapidly integrating dental implant to take advantage of immediate loading. Even Dr. Brånemark himself has introduced an immediate loading scenario for his dental implants.

I have been doing some work with the Sendax™ dental implant manufactured by the IMTEC Corporation and have found some excellent uses for these implants as immediate loaded transitional implants. These implants can be placed without raising a flap and they can be loaded immediately. They can be removed when they are no longer needed or left to aid in the support of the prosthesis over the long haul.
