Occasionally anything that can go wrong will go wrong. Over the last 15 years, I have had six or seven implants fracture and when that happens, they have to be removed and replaced. In my practice, If I have to replace an implant or a prostheses, there is no additional charges to the patient.
This section shows a patient treatment where the implant fractured almost three years after the original placement. I removed the implants, although there was a fragment that did remain and placed two additional implants just to be sure. Then I constructed a bar retained overdenture for the patient.
The entire treatment would have cost the patient at least four times what I originally charged her, but I wanted to give her something extra for her trouble in this matter. The results were excellent and everyone was happy in the end.... SRD
